Simulator Operator - Kadena AB, Japan
Operate JTAC simulators and provide training to Air Force personnel in accordance with DoD and Air Force directives.
About the Role
Perform JTAC/JTAC-I/JTAC-E control duties, simulator operations, and limited training of Air Force or other joint agency personnel in JTAC operations in accordance with pertinent DoD, Air Force, and subordinate units' directives, instructions, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate unit simulators and provide JTAC instruction in IQT, MQT, CT, and upgrade training to JTAC instructors and evaluators, mission duties for range operations, and general assistance to unit JTAC Program Managers (JTAC PMs) and JTAC Evaluator Program Managers (JTAC E-PMs) with JTAC operations.
- Accomplish minor software updates, load databases, create scenarios, accomplish line replaceable unit removal and replacement, and run scripted software or queries and other support as directed by the Help Desk.
- Capable of fully operating all aspects of the currently fielded simulator (Joint Terminal Control-Training Rehearsal System (JTC-TRS), DT-100, HAVIC) and any newly fielded accredited JTAC simulators.
- Implement STG/STS-provided simulator scenarios, as well as develop and maintain the squadron's CAS simulator scenarios in accordance with JFS ESC AP MOA 2004-01, USSOCOM M3505, AFSOC I 13-50, Wing, Group, and unit guidance. Report simulator status and issues on the monthly status report (MSR).
- Perform basic troubleshooting measures when simulator systems malfunction. Document and report issues to simulator service company and government leadership (CO/COR) within 72 hours of discovery. Report simulator status and issues on the monthly status reports (MSR).
- Provide JTAC, JTAC-Instructor, and JTAC-Evaluator duties.
- Participate in LVC, DMO training and exercises as required by the supported unit.

Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Meet or exceed the security requirements outlined in DD-254 for the supported site and shall be required to access Focal Point material, including electronic accounts and media.
- Demonstrate knowledge of U.S. military command and control structures.
- Possess a valid civilian driver's license and qualify for a military driver's license for all supported equipment and vehicles.
- Demonstrate land navigation/map and compass skills sufficient to read and locate points of interest and targets, etc., using latitude, longitude, and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates.
- Must pass an initial drug screening and submit drug testing results as required by the Government within 30 days of notification of acceptance for work on this contract. Staff shall be subject to subsequent random drug testing after award at the Government's expense.
- Must be medically qualified and can lift up to a 60-pound box.
- Maintain a medical evaluation form (physical) indicating that each staff member meets the following guidelines as specified in AFI 48-123v4, Attachments 3 and 4, P2, U2, L2, H1, E2, and S1.
Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements
- Complete Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M certification training or obtain their IAT Level certification within 6 months of completing baseline certification and assumption of duties.
- Current JTAC qualification IAW the USSOCOM 350-5, Appendix C, D, E, and F for JTAC-Instructor (JTAC-I) and BSO.
- Must have or have held a JTAC-I qualification rating and demonstrate a working knowledge of the organizational interface of military, local, state, and federal agencies applicable to supported JTAC functions and operations.
Other Required Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Pay Rate
The annual base salary range for this position $85K Max. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
