Contract Instructor Pilot
Serve as an F-15EX Instructor Pilot/Instructor Weapons System Operator providing simulator and academic training for PACAF pilots at Kadena Air Base.
Valiant is hiring an F-15EX Instructor Pilot (IP)/Instructor Weapons System Operator (IWSO) for the PACAF Simulator Instructor contract at Kadena AB, Japan to serve as the Air-to-Ground SME in the transition from the F-15C to the F-15EX. This position supports PACAF's Simulator Instructor Pilot (SIP) program and is responsible for all aspects of Performance Work Statement-specified academic and simulator training of F-15EX pilots.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts simulator training in Full Mission Trainer (FMT) & Mission Training Center (MTC) in support of Air Force and Joint RAP/DMO/LVC events and basic mission skills training in support of PACAF pilot training.
- Conduct academic training to include, Instrument Refresher Course (IRC), Local Area Orientation (LAO), Mission Qualification (MQT), Flight Lead, and Instructor Upgrade Training.
- Provide: (1) All site-specific basic console operations.
- (2) Console operation while providing instruction.
- (3) Direct/support instruction (i.e. "over the shoulder" or while flying the simulator).
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, record keeping, monitoring student progress, completing training event grade sheets and conduct quality assurance, safety, security, and maintenance of training programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Clearance Requirement
Active Secret Clearance with SAP. Top Secret/SAP Clearance preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to maintain ground training currency (IRC, CRM, etc.) and be physically qualified to perform these duties.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; have basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Previous fighter instructor experience in F-15E, F-15EX, F/A-18E/F, F-22A, F-35 or compatible aircraft as an instructor ("K" prefix).
- Ability to work flexible schedule to support customer requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Air-to-Ground mission planning and F-15E/EX Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) software.
- Experience with A/G smart weapons systems: JDAM, L-JDAM, SDB, Standoff Smart Weapons
- Experience with Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS)
- Previous F-15E/EX experience within last 5 years as an Instructor (K/W/T prefix).
- USAF Fighter Weapons School graduate
- Previous simulator instructor
- Familiarity with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO)
Physical Requirements
- Must meet the physical demands described herein to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be physically able to enter and egress the simulator.
- Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in classrooms for up to six hours a day.
- Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees
