Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Resources Technician.

Major Duties

Reviews and analyzes internal administrative policies and procedures and makes recommendations to the Resources Manager on administrative issues and problem areas. Reviews, improves, and documents internal operating procedures. Researches regulations and directives. Observes document flow and communications, and discusses processes with manager and staff to determine facts, identify needs, and resolve issues. Collects, sorts, and classifies organizational records, workflow charts, staffing levels, mission and function statements, program resource use and availability, and internal audit reports. Compiles program information and quality data and produces reports for specific topics. Continuously review the effectiveness of administrative processes and develop recommendations for improvements.

Assists FPR management with tracking completion of employee training requirements. Schedules, coordinates, and submits training requests per direction from FPR management with supporting agencies. Tracks training completion for all staff regarding annual required training. Obtains certificates of completion for employee service records.

Reviews all incoming FPR correspondence to determine required action, sets suspense dates, and routes correspondence to responsible individual. Conducts follow-up checks to ensure required action is completed prior to suspense date.

Facilitates program overviews for unit specific events (town halls, Smooth Move, and pre-deployment briefs) to build awareness in the community. Coordinates FPR program volunteer opportunities with the MCCS Volunteer Program Coordinator. Tracks, maintains, and submits FPR program related volunteer hours to the Volunteer Program Coordinator to be recognized during Volunteer Appreciation Month.

Collects and maintains statistical information, in sufficient detail, to ensure programs offered by P&PD meet the population's needs, as well as P&PD branch objectives. Submits various cyclical reports to include, but not limited to: annual FPR goal inputs, command chronology, monthly statistics, highlights, and information and referral data.

Provides world-class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles, and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify, and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact, for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the Equal Employment Opportunity program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Participates in mass casualty/crises action support drills, real-world emergency family assistance response exercises, and serves as a MCCS MCB Camp Butler Emergency Family Assistance Center operations team member.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school. (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.)
  • A minimum of 1 year experience and knowledge in responsible clerical support work, such as managing files and records, preparing documents and correspondence, receiving visitors or telephone calls, etc.
  • Must possess a valid driver license authorized for travel in Okinawa, Japan, and have the ability to travel to all Marine Corps camps.

Qualification Requirements

  • Knowledge of the military lifestyle to include service/unit organization and rank structure and military, family, and personal support services available.
  • Skills in oral and written communication to include using a variety of computer-based software, interacting with diverse groups and using interviewing and listening skills to assess needs of customers.
  • Ability to organize/manage multiple projects and a wide variety of office processes.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and ability to type.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually.
