Secondary Social Studies Teacher
Teach social studies classes using IMYC and Clonlara curricula to foster intellectual and social development of students at an international academy.
Responsibilities
- Designing and following a complete teaching plan
- Teaching Social Studies classes using the IMYC curriculum
- Teach basic high school social studies courses through the Clonlara curriculum
- Organizing science materials and resources
- Collaborating with teachers and administrators
We are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable teachers to foster and facilitate the intellectual and social development of the children. Teaching at Hope includes planning, implementing and assessing lessons. You will need to teach students with patience and creativity. Teacher duties include designing a teaching plan and using activities and effective instructional methods to motivate children in the life-long learning process.
- Design and follow a complete teaching plan
- Use a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
- Regularly assess student performance and progress to ensure steady growth skills
- Nurture collaboration and international mindedness
- Cooperate with administration staff
- Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- BA in Education (or other social studies-related degree)
- Teaching qualifications
- Proficient in English
- Specific content knowledge in the field of science
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a teacher or teacher assistant
- Excellent knowledge of child development and the latest education theories and practices
- Teaching and organisation skills
- Patience and flexibility
- Strong communication skills
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and best practices
- BSc degree in education or relevant license/certificate
