Mixed Teacher (Elementary)
Teach elementary students music and physical education at Kinser Elementary School, differentiating instruction and collaborating with educational staff.
Responsibilities
Differentiate instruction for individual student learning styles/needs.
Document student progress using formative and summative assessment tools.
Provide effective strategies to assist students in mastering content standards.
Collaborate with educational staff (such as other teachers, school-based specialists, other resource personnel, and community resources) to meet student learning needs.
Evaluate the educational progress of students.
Demonstrate respect for each student's background experience/culture.

Education Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- At least 40 semester hours in general education coursework (English, history, social studies, mathematics, fine arts, languages, science, philosophy, psychology)
- Minimum of 18 semester hours of professional teacher education coursework (learning process, tests and measurement, educational philosophy, psychology, social foundations, methods of teaching, curriculum)
- Student teaching or internship as part of an approved teacher education program
Certification/License
- Valid fully professional state teaching license in content areas (unencumbered)
- Praxis I and II or seven years of teaching at PreK-12 level can substitute for unencumbered license
- Military spouse preference applicants may be considered with encumbered license
Subject-Specific Requirements
0151 - Teacher, Music (ES):
- Minimum of 24 semester hours in music education or music
- Additional 9 semester hours of methods of teaching music
- Coursework should include K-12 music courses covering general music, instrumental music, and vocal/choral music
0155 - Teacher, Physical Education (ES):
- Minimum of 24 semester hours in physical education, kinesiology, or exercise science
- Course in methods of teaching physical education at K-12 level
- Minimum of 12 semester hours of upper-level coursework in physical education, kinesiology, adaptive physical education, or exercise science
